The afternoon of August 13, an unusual storm affected most of the Valley Regional Park-Carrascoy, unusual both for the date, registering in the mid- traditionally very dry one month throughout the area, as on all the intensity, leaving rainfall between 30 and 60 mm along the entire mountain.
The storm began in the southern province of Albacete, moving towards the plateau and towards the plain of the safe, which ran from north to south, to leave their last legs in the region of the mar menor . The phenomenon affected the Southern Cordillera from 18:00, leaving 41 mm at the meteorological station of the dry, windy and appliance. Be stronger if the storm hit the western part of the park. The EMTP of Majal Blanco measured at just over half an hour a total of 58 mm by automatic sensors, with an intensity maximum of 281 mm / h, which makes it the most intense storm since the station launched in September 2009. The rain, accompanied by small hail, led to the departure of some watercourses in the area and flooding in nearby residential TorreGuil in Sangonera la Verde.
This precipitation, together with those collected in subsequent days left in the entire northern slope of the Sierra totals between 60 and 90 mm, much higher than usual for August in this area is around 10 mm.
